Questions

The things people always ask

Straight answers, no sales language. If yours isn't here, call or text — we'd rather explain it than guess.

1Do you move the furniture?
Yes — we move what two people can safely move, and set it back on corner guards or blocks so nothing stains or dents while it dries. Pianos, waterbeds, oversized china cabinets and electronics we clean around. Clearing small items off the floor beforehand speeds everything up.
2How long does carpet take to dry?
Usually 4 to 6 hours. Truck-mounted extraction pulls most of the moisture back out, so you're not walking on a swamp. Running the furnace fan or a ceiling fan cuts it shorter; humid days and heavy plush carpet run longer. You can walk on it right away in clean socks.
3Is pet treatment extra?
Yes, it's priced separately because it's a different job — enzyme treatment applied at the source and sub-surface extraction where the urine actually sits in the pad. Odor coming from the pad or subfloor may need more than one treatment, and we'll tell you that before starting instead of after.
4Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we can get in and you're reachable by phone. Plenty of rental turnovers, listings and office jobs get done with a lockbox or key. If you're not there, leave a note about problem spots — or better, upload photos in the plan builder.
5How far ahead should I book?
Most quotes are answered the same business day and we can often be out within the week. Holidays, the weeks before Thanksgiving and the end of the month for rental turnovers fill up first, so a week of notice is safest.
6Will the stains come out?
Most do. Dirt, food, drink, traffic lanes and pet accidents usually respond well. Bleach damage, dye stains and permanently discolored fibers are color loss rather than soil, so no amount of cleaning restores them — we'll say so honestly rather than charge you to find out.
7What chemicals do you use — are they safe for kids and pets?
The solutions we use are safe for children and pets once the carpet is dry, and everything is rinsed and extracted rather than left in the fibers. If anyone in the house has allergies or sensitivities, mention it and we'll adjust.
8How often should carpet be cleaned?
Every 12 to 18 months for a typical household, every 6 to 12 months with pets, kids or heavy traffic. Regular cleaning is what makes carpet last — abrasive soil ground into fibers is what actually wears it out.
9Do you clean air ducts and dryer vents too?
Yes. Whole-home duct cleaning covers supply runs, cold-air returns and the furnace or air handler. Dryer vents are cleaned separately and are worth doing — lint buildup in the line is a real fire risk and it makes the dryer run longer.
10Do you handle commercial work?
Yes — offices, clinics, churches, retail and rental properties, with after-hours and weekend scheduling and square-foot pricing. Repeat-service schedules are available so it never gets away from you.
11How often do air ducts actually need cleaning?
Every three to five years for most homes, sooner with pets, smokers, allergy sufferers, a recent remodel, or if you've just moved in and don't know when it was last done. If dust resettles right after you clean or there's a musty smell when the furnace kicks on, it's overdue. RK cleans to NADCA and NAIMA standards.
12How long does upholstery take to dry?
Two to four hours for most fabrics, up to six for heavy or lined pieces. We groom the cushions and can set air movers on request, so in almost every case you're sitting on it the same day.
13Do you seal tile and grout after cleaning?
Yes. Grout is porous, so sealing after a deep clean is what keeps it from soaking up spills again. We also do grout coloring to even out permanently stained lines and minor regrouting where joints have cracked out.
14Do you offer emergency service?
Yes — 24/7 for water and flood emergencies in Kenosha and Racine county. Call rather than fill out a form; wet carpet and pad need extraction within hours to avoid mold and permanent damage.
15Can we set up recurring cleaning?
Absolutely. Weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly or annual maintenance plans are available for both commercial spaces and busy households — same crew, standing appointment, priority scheduling and better pricing than one-off visits.
16What payment methods do you take?
Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Commercial accounts can be invoiced.
