- It's been two or more years, or nobody knows when it was last done
- Pets in the home
- Anyone smokes indoors
- Allergy or asthma symptoms that are worse indoors
- Dust settles again a day after you clean
- A musty or stale smell when the furnace first runs
- Recent remodel or construction work
- You just moved in and don't know the home's history
Best time of year
Late September through October, before the furnace runs all day. Cleaning the system before heating season means you aren't circulating a summer's worth of dust through the house for six months.
